{March 20, 2011}   Where to start?

Wow!  Day one of my blog…where to start?!?!?

I’m an almost 39 year old woman, and I’ve suffered all my life with weight problems.  I’ve heard it all from, “Oh she’s tall for her age,” to “well, I’m heavy boned.”  The truth is that I eat too much and I don’t exercise enought…well, it was true up until August of last year.  That’s when this photo was taken:

I couldn’t believe how much I had gained and how out of shape I looked.  Weight has always been an issue for me.  At the age of 11, I reached my current height of 5’9″.  I towered over all my classmates. Feeling so different to everyone else, I turned to food as a comfort.  Not a smart thing, as it launched me eventually up to 280 pounds.  I did manage to lose 60, but only because I had to have my gallbladder removed and the NHS wouldn’t do the op until I was lighter.  I gained back 40 of those pounds during the following 18 months.

In the photo, I was 260 pounds.  I wasout of shape, dissapointed and angry with myself.  I decided there and then to sort myself out!

Luckily, I have an incredibly supportive husband, who has helped me every step of the way. 

I am now 200 pounds!  I run twice a week, I swim once a week, and I ride my bike inbetween!  Over the following weeks and months, journey with me as I lose the next 40 lbs and train for a triathlon!
